Four words have been quietly running style advice for about a century. Classic, Romantic, Dramatic, Natural. They come from an old idea that the lines of a person, sharp or soft, long or compact, suit different lines in clothing, and that fighting your own lines is why some outfits feel like wearing someone else's day. Why Does A Perfectly Nice Outfit Sometimes Feel Wrong?

Second, treating the result as a set of rules to obey forever. The framework is a shortcut, not a legal code. If you are a Classic who loves one extremely non-Classic jacket, wear the jacket. The map exists to save you time in shops, not to overrule your own eyes.
How To Use The Result Without Overthinking It
Take one principle and apply it to the next thing you buy. Classics do best with clean symmetry and moderate everything. Romantics do best when fabric drapes and details curve. Dramatics do best with long, bold lines and real scale. Naturals do best with relaxed structure and textured fabric that is not fighting for a shape. Gamines do best with crisp, compact pieces and contrast. Soft Dramatics do best when big shapes are made of something fluid. That is the whole system in six sentences, and if you remember only the one that matches you, shopping gets noticeably faster.
A Note On Bodies Changing
One more thing, because it comes up constantly and nobody addresses it. Your line can shift over a life. Pregnancy, illness, ageing, weight moving in either direction, all of it can move you from one category toward a neighbouring one, and the wardrobe that worked beautifully for a decade can stop cooperating without any warning. That is not a failure of taste and it is not something to push through by buying the same things in a new size. It is a signal to re-run the question. People who retake this every few years tend to like their clothes more than people who decided at twenty-two and never revisited it.
